Opera Thursdays

If you've wanted to try opera but have been wary of committing to a full-fledged production, Opera Thursday can be a good introduction. Through a partnership with area restaurants and The Palmetto Opera, this series offers a sampling of opera during dinner. Performers will sing two or three arias from well-known operas during dinner hours.

Palmetto Opera’s Opera Thursday and Opera Night series offers a sampling of arias from well-known operas and musical theater classics during the dinner hours at some of our finest restaurants.

OPERA THURSDAY, Thursday, February 23^rd, Mediterranean Cafe, 327 W. Main St., Lexington. Our first Opera Thursday at Mediterranean Cafe in Lexington combines fine dining and fine opera for an unforgettable evening. Dinner includes appetizer, salad, choice of entrees(fish of the day, steak, lamb chops or chicken) and wine; $50 per person. Save your seat! Reservations: (803) 356-6294.

OPERA NIGHT, Monday, February 27^th, Moe’s Grapevine, 4478 Rosewood Dr., Columbia. Moe Baddourah has planned another elegant evening for our second performance at Moe’s Grapevine, 7:00 pm. OPERA NIGHT, Thursday, March 1^st, Villa Tronco Italian Restaurant, 1213 Blanding St., Columbia. Performances and dinner the first Monday of the month. Diners choose from regular and special menus. Early reservations are encouraged: (803) 256-7677.

Central Carolina Food and Wine Festival

We provided roving troubadours at the Central Carolina Food and Wine Festival in Columbia, SC. Opera singers wandering incognito amongst the guests spontaneously broke into song to the admiration and applause of startled festival goers.

“An Evening in Italy”

This evening was the third annual soiree of Italian food and beverages. It included a presentation of selections from great Italian operas that began at 7:00 PM at the Capital City Club. Silent Auction added to the evenings’ enjoyment.

Music at Mills

In partnership with the Palmetto Opera, Historic Columbia Foundation presented a musical evening with a fun mix of selections from opera, operettas, musicals, and popular songs.Proceeds benefited HCF and the Palmetto Opera.
